Mission Statement + History
The West Coast Blues Society is a non-profit, 501 © (3) organization dedicated to the perpetuation of Blues, Jazz and Gospel as an indigenous American art form.
We are dedicated to the preservation, promotion and cultural impact of this unique American folk music and its roots in African-American communities.
While blues is often thought of as a southern and Midwestern regional art form, California and the West Coast also have a history in this music.
The communities of Los Angeles, Seattle, Oakland, Hayward-Russell City, Pittsburg, Richmond, and Vallejo all have deep roots in the music idiom.
